Zombie, I am

Really original narrative with the disruption of the students’ brainstorming – the initial equilibrium – with the arrival of a zombie; it’s really funny and satirical. The dialogue was really entertaining. I like the idea of how they parody the life of Journ students, drawing on their own experiences. What was also amusing was their melodramatic reactions to the threat of the villain. Furthermore, the heroes, Dean and Thirusha, are so obvious in their actions and thus the narrative seems predictable, however, the ending, where Chris is going to be fed to the students and the heroes, creates an interesting and amusing twist to the story. Therefore, the reader thinks that peace, a new equilibrium, has been restored, but instead a new disruption occurs at the end, which shocks the reader.

Hey Guys

Well done on the comic! I found it really entertaining, especially the facial expressions, the body language of the characters and the twist at the end of the story.
Your comic had an interesting plot that flowed really well and did not have any confusing jumps from one block to the next. In terms of your plot, there is a definite link to Todorov’s Narrative Model. There was an initial equilibrium where you were in the Botanical Gardens, a disruption when the zombie appeared, recognition of the disruption and the restoration of a new equilibrium.
It is very easy to make out the Proppian characters within your comic, that being the man-eating zombie as the villain and the triumphant heroes who kick the zombie and it’s minion in the butt!
The end of the story did start me wondering, is that really where our mystery meat comes from? Because I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it did.
